An elegant blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon clearly showing the varietal nose of Sauvignon Blanc with gooseberries, passion fruit and fresh sun dried herbs, the Semillon portion creates texture and elegance to the blend with notes of lemon, honey, butter and the slightest hint of creamy vanillin oak. The palate is dry, vibrant and tightly structured with racy acidity and a pure mineral finish.
Gardo & Morris Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon is excellent to compliment shellfish, lobster, crayfish, grilled fish and chicken. It goes very well with citrus-based sauces incorporating fresh herbs such as basil, coriander and dill. One of my personal favourites is pan-fried market fish with risotto served with a fresh seasonal salad.
