Gardo & Morris is a small family-run New Zealand Winery operating from Sweden. We are a husband and wife team - Ben Morris (Winemaker) and Frida Gårdö Morris - and we travel to New Zealand every year to make our own wines. We are a bit unique as we are both a wine producer and also an importer/distributor of wines to the Swedish market. We began our business in 2006 solely producing elegant handcrafted wines in New Zealand and selling them to fine dining restaurants in Sweden. From 2009 we began to expand and our portfolio now also includes other small family producers from around the world. The vision we share with all the producers in our portfolio is a passion to create the best examples of the wines our countries can produce. The aim of the Gardo & Morris New Zealand winery is to create exceptional single vineyard wines from New Zealand’s finest winegrowing regions. These wines are made to complement food and reflect flavours of the vineyard site and grape variety. We believe that by working with small vineyard areas we are able to pick the very best fruit and with gentle treatment in the winery turn this into unique hand-crafted wines. Ben studied his Master of Applied Science (Oenology) at Lincoln University in New Zealand where he specialised in research on producing organic wines without the addition of preservatives. “Creating our wines with minimal vineyard sprays and additives is very important to us as it helps us produce pure clean wines and has the added benefit of sustaining a healthy environment.”
Gardo & Morris is delivering wines to some of Sweden’s finest restaurants with the aim to complement Sweden’s local specialties. Our wines are also available at Systembolaget, in both fixed sortiment and through ordering sortiment.
